Tiananmen at 25: Selective Amnesia

June 4, 2014 Eric F. Frazier

European courts ruled recently that people have the “right to be forgotten.” What about the right not to be forgotten? Does that not apply to Tiananmen Square, where thousands of unarmed protesters were killed 25 years ago by their nation’s…

About Eric F. Frazier

I am an independent writer, editor, book reviewer and co-author of GPS Declassified: From Smart Bombs to Smartphones.

Frazeology is my take on matters large and small, in the news or off the radar. My approach is personal, but the goal is not to write about me. Rather, it is to offer subjective observations about experiences and concerns that we all share.

From time to time, I link to and comment on things others have said particularly well--or especially poorly. And sometimes I make up new words. We have more than enough already, but it's fun and I find playing around with language irresistible.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you enjoy reading.

If you look up the history of the Stone Mountain defacement, which took five decades to finish, you'll find what is likely the largest, most expensive monument to white supremacy in the nation.

The Stone Mountain Memorial Association has denied a gathering permit from the Sons of Confederate Veterans, who were looking to host their annual Confederate Memorial Day service at Stone Mountain Park outside Atlanta.

Today is 3 months since a party that devoted half a century to capturing the courts ignored their judges’ election rulings and tried to forcibly capture a second branch of government to impose a twice-impeached president on the majority who rejected him.
